Reporting to the Director, Information Technology, the Clinical Informatics Lead serves as a trusted advisor and subject-matter expert, providing leadership and guidance for clinical workflows within the Health Information System (HIS) (LUMEO) across all Providence Care programs. The role advises on the advancement of evidence-informed clinical practice and education by facilitating organizational practice changes necessary for the effective and ongoing operation of the Enterprise HIS. The Clinical Informatics Lead participates in relevant working groups with the Regional Lumeo Team, contributing to decision-makinginformation sharing, and the promotion of aligned clinical practices within the health care community. Serving as a central advisory resource for clinical informatics best practices, the role works closely with local technology, Professional Practice, and Clinical Education resources to ensure alignment of clinical processes that support high-quality patient care.  

 

Education & Experience: 

  • Undergraduate degree in Nursing or an Allied Health profession OR equivalent education and experience in a health-related discipline, may be considered 
  • Current registration and member in good standing with a recognized health regulatory body 
  • Minimum of five years’ recent experience providing advisory support for process redesign and/or change management in a healthcare setting, in support of clinical staff (e.g. nursing, allied health, physicians, etc.) 

 

Position Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Evaluates, develops, and manages the governance and operations of clinical workflow across Providence Care with respect to the LUMEO system 
  • Collaborates with professional practice teams to support the development of cross venue/site/specialty standardization in digital workflows and practices throughout all of Providence Care’s services 
  • Represents Providence Care’s clinical priorities at regional LUMEO working groups and committees by contributing to subject-matter expertise and strategic input to system-level discussions 
  • Advises on clinical workflow optimization to support safety, evidence-based practice, and alignment with professional and leading practices through collaboration with internal and regional/system partners  
  • Develops memos, briefing notes, and business cases that inform and support practice changes within the LUMEO system
  • Acts as a key point of contact for system issues with the Regional LUMEO team 
  • Coordinates locally to ensure working group membership is sufficient and effective from a nursing, allied, and physician perspective 
  • Coordinates with key partners, including Clinical Informatics, Professional Practice, and IT Technical teams, to ensure alignment on process and practice changes 
  • Communicates timely updates to relevant partners regarding new and enhanced functionality within the system
